Akpabio Warns: “NASS Is For Governance, Not Clout-Chasing!” – Senate Reacts To Natasha Clash

During Thursday’s plenary, Natasha refused to accept the seat assigned to her, citing Order 10 of the Senate Standing Rules, which upholds the privileges of members.
As tensions escalated, Senate President Godswill Akpabio ordered security personnel to eject the senator, but intervention from fellow lawmakers prevented further chaos.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily, Adaramodu emphasized that the Senate is a place for serious legislative work, not entertainment or content creation.
Adaramodu, who represents Ekiti South Senatorial District, dismissed allegations that Natasha was being bullied or sidelined, pointing out that despite being a first-time senator, she was appointed as the chairman of three committees, including Foreign Affairs and NGOs.
“The National Assembly is not a platform for content creation in entertainment; it is for serious legislative business. If she claims she is being sidelined, how does that align with the fact that she, as a first-timer, has been given the chairmanship of three committees?”
He also ruled out any disciplinary action against Natasha, revealing that her Kogi State colleagues, particularly Senator Isah Jubril, had already apologized on her behalf.
“The Senate has accepted the apology, and we are not going to revisit the matter,” Adaramodu stated.
