APC Fires Back: “PDP Should Fix Its House Before Dreaming Of 2027
The Lagos State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has advised the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to concentrate on resolving its internal turmoil instead of making “empty proclamations” about winning the 2027 general elections.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a strongly worded statement issued on Thursday by its spokesperson, Seye Oladejo, the APC dismissed the PDP’s recent boast that it has the structure and capacity to dethrone the ruling party, branding the claim a “delusional political fantasy.”
Oladejo described the PDP’s remarks as a reflection of desperation and denial, insisting the party is ignoring its own deep-rooted instability.
“The PDP’s supposed structure and strength are laughable and completely detached from Nigeria’s political reality,” he said.
He challenged the PDP to clarify what structure it referred to—pointing to the party’s ongoing leadership crises and consistent losses at the polls since 2015.
“Is it the same fractured, crisis-laden party riddled with defections and internal strife that they’re counting on?” Oladejo asked.
He accused the PDP of failing to learn from its past defeats, stating that its 16-year rule was marred by economic mismanagement, weak institutions, and widespread corruption.
According to him, these failures were precisely why Nigerians voted the PDP out of power and continue to support the APC.
“Nigerians haven’t forgotten the hardship caused by PDP’s misrule,” he said, adding that the APC, by contrast, enjoys broad national backing thanks to its people-driven policies.
Highlighting the APC’s performance under President Bola Tinubu, Oladejo said the current administration has made strides in economic reform, digital innovation, and national security.
“The 2023 election was a resounding endorsement of the APC’s grassroots strength and national appeal,” he noted.
He concluded by urging the PDP to serve as a credible opposition rather than living in the past.
“Nigerians deserve an opposition rooted in vision and integrity, not one recycling outdated rhetoric and failed politicians,” he said.
“By 2027, APC will return to the polls with real achievements and a roadmap for the future—not recycled slogans and faded dreams.”
