Through his legal team, led by Chief Chris Uche, SAN, the PDP candidate contended that what he received from the court was a judgment, not justice. He stressed that the Constitution grants them the right to appeal the decision.
Atiku asserted that this legal challenge is not only for his benefit but also for the sake of the country’s Constitution, the rule of law, and democracy.
He had hoped for an outcome that would promote the use of technology to improve election management, enhance transparency, and foster accountability, thereby restoring faith in Nigerian democracy.
He further conveyed their intention to explore certain legal principles and expressed confidence that the Supreme Court, in due time, would have the opportunity to review various aspects of the case.
In preparation for the appeal, Atiku’s legal team has requested the court records and judgment, recognizing the urgency of the matter.
