Balsingh Appointed New CEO Of Airtel NigeriaDinesh Balsingh has officially been appointed as the new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Airtel Nigeria. Balsingh succeeds Carl Cruz, who resigned at the end of October to return to the Philippines. His tenure officially began on November 1, 2024.
According to the statement, Balsingh brings extensive experience from across the telecommunications industry. He returns to Nigeria after serving as the Managing Director and CEO of Airtel Tanzania since 2022. Before his tenure in Tanzania, Balsingh held the role of Chief Commercial Officer at Airtel Nigeria, providing him with significant expertise in the Nigerian telecommunications sector.
Balsingh first joined Airtel Nigeria in 2013 as the Marketing Director, after holding leadership positions at Airtel India and Tata Docomo.
Commenting on the leadership change, Airtel Africa CEO Sunil Taldar expressed confidence in Balsingh’s ability to drive the company’s growth. “Balsingh’s wealth of telecommunications experience, strong operational skills, and deep understanding of the Nigerian market will be pivotal in advancing our mission to transform lives across Nigeria,” Taldar said.
Balsingh holds an MBA from Thiagarajar School of Management.
