In an electrifying scene earlier today, a massive crowd gathered at the Benin airport, eagerly awaiting the arrival of Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu, the esteemed APC leading aspirant, who flew to Abuja for a trending APC meeting.
The outpouring of love and support exhibited by the crowd captured the attention of the internet, marking a unique show of genuine care and support unseen in Edo State’s political landscape. This fervor persisted despite rumors circulating that Ize-Iyamu’s name was excluded from the list of candidates contesting the primary election by the APC Advisory Committee in Abuja.
Addressing the swirling rumors during his speech, Ize-Iyamu emphatically stated, “You heard that a committee in Abuja has removed Pastor’s name from the list of those to contest; that story is a lie. Nobody can remove my name. God has said it that this is our time.” The crowd responded positively to his assurance.
Dispelling concerns about his eligibility, he continued, “There is nothing to worry about when you are contesting the election; there are bound to be rumors and stories. I know that there are rumors about some people being excluded and not being excluded, but by that release alone, you will know that is not possible. The only people that can exclude people from this exercise is the screening committee set by NWC.”
Ize-Iyamu took a moment to explain his decision to enter the contest, stating, “I am not contesting because I am hungry; I am contesting because my people say I must contest. Men dey here? Women dey here? Children dey here? Esans dey here? Estakos dey here? Benins dey here? By the grace of God, don’t allow anything to shake you. They want to make you afraid; they want to discourage you, but you will not be discouraged.” The crowd responded with a resounding “AMEN.”
The APC front-runner announced the date he would purchase the APC form worth 50 million, declaring, “Let me announce to you by the grace of God, next week, we will go and collect the form. I am proud to say that even though I have the money to collect the form, there are many of you here who said, ‘Pastor, you will not use your money to pay for the form.’ They have told me that next week when I want to pay, they are the ones going to pay for me.”
Addressing rumors of a rift with Oshiomhole, Ize-Iyamu clarified, “My relationship with him is cordial. He is my senior brother, and I respect age. We have worked together for many years. He is the leader of our party in the state and a distinguished senator.”
Several residents of Edo shared their reasons for supporting Ize-Iyamu:
Chief Frank Erewele: “Pastor Osagie Ize-Iyamu has what it takes to rebuild Edo State.”
Osaro Obaze: “I decided to choose him because I have worked with him for years, and he has not disappointed with regard to his sincerity.”
Oshioke Emma: “He is the right candidate for this gubernatorial election.”
The overwhelming crowd gathered by Ize-Iyamu, surpassing the one at his declaration last month, serves as a testament to his unparalleled fan base and manpower within the All-Progressive Congress, positioning him as the candidate capable of defeating any opposition and reclaiming Osadebe Avenue for the APC.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
