Expressing remorse for the recent state of affairs, Aiyedatiwa acknowledged that the reports emerging from the state in recent weeks have been deeply unsettling.
During an interactive session with journalists in the state, Aiyedatiwa emphasized his unwavering loyalty to Akeredolu and his strong dedication to the state’s development and progress.
The deputy governor further underscored the necessity of restoring peace and harmony to the Sunshine State, emphasizing the importance of diffusing tensions.
Aiyedatiwa also commended Akeredolu for his intervention and efforts to persuade the members of the Ondo State House of Assembly to embrace a political solution put forward by the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
He refuted all allegations circulating against him, which he claimed were propagated by individuals with a desire to remove him from office ahead of the 2024 gubernatorial election.
Aiyedatiwa also clarified that he has no connections to any groups or individuals organizing protests or calling for the governor’s resignation, and he has not authorized anyone to initiate such campaigns.
“In light of the recent events triggered by the health challenges faced by Mr. Governor, which led to misunderstandings, misconceptions, assumptions, and insinuations, and were exploited by political contenders preparing for the upcoming 2024 gubernatorial election, I hereby extend my sincere apologies to Mr. Governor and the esteemed people of Ondo State. I assure that, together, we will complete this journey with honor, divine guidance, and good health by the grace of God.”
