Former Aides of Ex-Anambra Governor Urge Soludo to Fulfill Severance Package Commitments During a recent gathering in Awka, former aides of Chief Willie Obiano, the erstwhile Anambra State Governor, called on the current governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, to fulfill their severance packages. Expressing their distress, they revealed that 42 of their fellow appointees from Obiano’s administration had passed away within two years of leaving office without receiving their due severance allowances. The plea echoes a similar call made by Obiano a month ago, emphasizing that the payment and the appointment of some of his aides into Soludo’s government were agreed upon conditions for supporting Soludo’s succession. Anambra State Deputy Governor, Dr. Onyekachukwu Ibezim, a former political appointee under Obiano, attended the reunion and encouraged the former aides not to lose hope, emphasizing the shared experience of Governor Soludo, who himself served under Obiano in the past.
