The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) has appointed 11 agents for pre-shipment monitoring and evaluation tasks related to the country’s oil and gas exports. This announcement came through a circular, TED/FEM/PUB/FPC/OO1/014, dated May 13, 2024, issued by Dr. Hassan Mahmud, Director of the Trade and Exchange Department at the CBN.

The appointments, effective immediately, are delineated into two categories: nine pre-shipment inspection agents and two monitoring and evaluation agents. The nine pre-shipment inspection agents include companies like Neroli Technologies Limited, Holborn Oil and Gas Inter Ltd, Swede Control Intertek Ltd, Fel Tov Energy & Investment Ltd, JBIS Inter Resources Ltd, Patibon Services Ltd, Offshores Bulk Inspection Co Ltd, Candid Oil Services Ltd, and Dakee Engineering and Construction Limited.

For monitoring and evaluation, Arlington Securities Nigeria Limited and DV Howells Nigeria Limited have been selected. The CBN has communicated this directive to authorized dealers, Nigerian Customs Services, Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission (NUPRC), Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL), Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), terminal operators, and all oil and gas companies.
