The Jigawa State Police Command has apprehended three individuals in connection with the reported theft of 48 goats in Babura and Kiyawa Local Government Areas. Abdullahi revealed that Abdullahi Usman (20) and Hassan Ado (22), in collaboration with Tasiu Umar, who is currently at large, allegedly stole 26 goats valued at N1.3 million. The incident was reported by Hassan Ibrahim of Abari village in Niger Republic on January 22. Following the report, the police swiftly acted, leading to the apprehension of Usman Ado and the recovery of eight goats in their possession.

During interrogation, the suspects admitted to the theft and confirmed that 18 of the goats had been sold to Abdullahi Amadu of Kunyafa village and Mustapha of Madangana village, both of whom are currently evading arrest, at the price of N210,000.

The third suspect, Ado Buba (25) from Dundubus village in Dutse, was arrested on January 23 at approximately 4 p.m. by a patrol team from Kiyawa police division. Buba was found in possession of 22 goats suspected to be stolen. Upon questioning, he confessed to stealing the goats from Andaza village in Kiyawa. The owner of the goats, Adamu Maina of Andaza village, positively identified them.

Commissioner Abdullahi stated that upon completion of the investigation, the arrested suspects, Usman, Ado, and Buba, would face charges in court.
