Police authorities, however, dismissed the claims as entirely fabricated. Yamu noted that during questioning, the suspect admitted she staged the incident purely to boost her online visibility.

Authorities also discovered that Omoyemen deleted an earlier video in which an associate could be heard encouraging viewers to follow her page—an omission police say clearly exposes the motive behind the hoax. Officials warn that her actions were not only deceptive but also capable of inciting public distrust and generating unnecessary tension within the state.

Police say efforts are underway to apprehend her accomplices. According to the command, the legal actions being taken are intended to serve as a strong deterrent to individuals who may consider using social media to create panic or disturb public peace. Omoyemen has already been charged in court for disseminating false information.
