The warning was issued by Deputy Inspector General of Police Frank Mba, who is responsible for overseeing election security. During an interview with Channels Television, Mba urged Edo residents to fulfill their civic duty by voting and then going home, announcing a restriction on vehicular movement from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on election day. He emphasized, “If you’re not accredited to participate in the election, you shouldn’t be on the streets. Cast your vote and return home; it’s your civic duty.”

However, Davido, who is associated with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), disagreed with the police directive. Reacting to the video on his X account, he simply wrote, “Lol, go where.”
