1. Robin and Shaqueel van Persie

Robin van Persie handed his son, Shaqueel, his senior debut during Feyenoord’s Europa League loss to Celtic on Thursday, November 27. The 19-year-old forward, who spent two years in Manchester City’s academy before joining Feyenoord in 2017, signed his first professional deal in 2022. He first appeared for the club in an Eredivisie match against NEC Nijmegen, followed by his European debut just four days later.

2. Johan and Jordi Cruyff

Football icon Johan Cruyff gave his son Jordi several opportunities at Barcelona while managing the club. Jordi went on to make 54 appearances under his father, later joining Manchester United and earning nine caps for Spain. Reflecting on the experience, Jordi told BBC Radio 5 Live in 2019: “He was demanding of me in front of others—absolutely. He would shout, and the hairs on my skin would stand up.”

3. Harry and Jamie Redknapp

Jamie Redknapp played under his father, Harry, both at the beginning and end of his career. After debuting for Bournemouth at 16, he moved to Liverpool in 1991 before reuniting with Harry again at Southampton in 2005. Harry also famously managed his nephew, Frank Lampard, at West Ham.
