The party also alleged that the Supervising National Commissioner for the FCT, Mohammed Kudu Haruna, had reportedly acknowledged receiving such a land allocation. PDP expressed concern that any such gesture could compromise the neutrality expected of electoral officials, especially given their critical role in overseeing elections.

In a statement signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong, the party further claimed that INEC Chairman, Joash Amupitan, was also allegedly among the beneficiaries. According to the PDP, these claims raise serious questions about the commission’s ability to conduct free and fair elections, urging INEC to urgently clarify the situation to restore public confidence.

The opposition party described the reports as troubling, suggesting they could point to a broader attempt to influence key institutions tied to the electoral process. It questioned why such benefits would be extended to officials connected to elections, while other essential workers in sectors like healthcare, education, and security have not received similar consideration.

PDP stressed that INEC must remain transparent and impartial at all times, urging the commission to uphold the highest standards of accountability. It added that public trust in the electoral body could be further eroded if the allegations are not properly addressed.
