Giadom asserted that no politician, including Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, can secure victory in Gokana Local Government Area without the backing of Wike. He made this known on Tuesday during Wike’s thank-you visit to the Gokana people.
According to him, Gokana remains firmly loyal to Wike and is effectively closed to any political figure who does not have his support. He stressed that Wike’s influence in the area is unchallenged.
“I can confidently say, on behalf of my people, that Gokana stands solidly with Wike and President Bola Tinubu. No one can undermine Wike’s authority here,” Giadom said. “Gokana is a no-go area for anyone, including Governor Fubara. To win anything here, one must go through Wike.”
Also speaking at the event, former senator representing Rivers South East, Magnus Abe, echoed Giadom’s remarks, affirming that the people of Gokana remain loyal to both Wike and President Tinubu.
Abe described Wike as a unifying leader, adding that those who align with him would not be disappointed. He pledged the full support of the Ogoni people to Tinubu, insisting there would be no need for campaign efforts in Gokana.
Deputy Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Dumle Maol, also assured Wike of unwavering support from the people of Gokana, stating that they would stand with him wherever he goes.
Earlier, the Chairman of Gokana Local Government, Confidence Deko, reaffirmed the community’s loyalty, promising that the people would follow Wike’s political direction when elections approach. He expressed appreciation for the benefits the area had received and pledged strong support for President Tinubu.
In his response, Wike thanked the people of Gokana for their warm reception, explaining that the visit was meant to express gratitude for their longstanding support. He praised their unity and commitment to Tinubu’s leadership, noting that unity would continue to attract positive outcomes.
Wike added that political leaders would provide guidance at the appropriate time and revealed that members of both the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the APC in Rivers State are united under President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
