The Senior Pastor and General Overseer of Omega Fire Ministries International, Apostle Johnson Suleman, has called on President Bola Tinubu to resign if his administration is unable to effectively tackle the worsening security situation in Nigeria.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Suleman made the remarks while addressing his congregation on the state of insecurity in the country, insisting that government efforts must go beyond confronting armed attackers to targeting those who finance and support terrorism.

According to him, the real threat to national security lies not only with the individuals carrying out attacks but also with those allegedly providing funding, weapons and logistical support.

He stressed that identifying, arresting and prosecuting such sponsors is essential if Nigeria is to make meaningful progress in ending terrorism and other violent crimes.

During the sermon, Suleman urged the Federal Government to take decisive action against individuals behind terrorist networks operating across the country.

He further argued that many of the armed groups currently active were linked to earlier generations of terrorists who were allegedly allowed to grow and evolve over time.

“The sponsors of terrorism are our real problem. Go after them. If the President cannot deal with them, he should resign, let somebody else do it,” Suleman said.

“The people you are facing now are the children of those terrorists who were six years old when they were brought in 2014, and have now grown to be 19 or 21 years old. That is why you see small boys carrying AK-47s. Go after the sponsors who empower them.”

The cleric maintained that addressing insecurity requires strong political will, adding that focusing only on those carrying out attacks would not resolve the crisis.

Despite his criticism, Suleman commended Nigeria’s security agencies, describing them as among the best in the world.

He said his observations from international travels had convinced him that the Nigerian Army, Police, and Department of State Services (DSS) are made up of highly capable personnel.

“I have travelled to several countries and I can boldly tell you that the Nigerian Army, the police and the DSS are among the best in the world,” he said.

Suleman added that security operatives could achieve better results if supported by stronger political commitment to confronting those behind violence.

He warned that the country’s insecurity challenges would persist unless those sponsoring terrorism are exposed and brought to justice.

Nigeria continues to grapple with incidents of banditry, kidnappings, killings and terrorist attacks in various parts of the country, with growing calls for more decisive government action.

Suleman’s comments add to increasing pressure on the Tinubu administration to strengthen its response to insecurity and restore public confidence.

He emphasized that insecurity should not be treated as ordinary crime but as a coordinated system that must be dismantled at its roots.
