During the 15th coronation anniversary celebration of Oba Adekanmi Oyekan in Apa Kingdom, Badagry, Lagos, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu reiterated his commitment to implementing policies and strategies aimed at solidifying peace in the state. Represented by Commissioner Bolaji Robert, he emphasized the necessity of a peaceful environment for prosperity, urging citizens to support the government’s initiatives. Sanwo-Olu expressed gratitude to the traditional ruler and the community for their support, emphasizing the significance of such occasions in recognizing the efforts of royal fathers in maintaining peace. Oba Adekanmi Oyekan, in his remarks, appealed to the state government for more infrastructural projects in Apa, including the upgrade of Apa Grammar School and construction of a senior secondary section. He also acknowledged the federal government’s Deep Sea Port project and the reconstruction of Lagos-Badagry Expressway, anticipating positive impacts on the area’s development.
The traditional ruler extended appreciation to President Bola Tinubu, Sen. Oluremi Tinubu, Governor Sanwo-Olu, and other elected officials for their contributions to Apa’s development. He urged the expedited construction of Apa-Owode Road, an international route to Benin Republic. The event featured the participation of chiefs, petroleum marketers, residents, and traditional dancers, highlighting the cultural richness of the region.
