Heartbroken Ngozi Ezeonu Speaks Out After Tragic Death OF Famous Nollywood Actress

According to Nollywood actor Stanley Ontop, who made the announcement on social media, Nkechi passed away after a brief illness.

In a heartfelt Instagram post on Tuesday, March 25, 2026, Ngozi revealed that she was unaware of Nkechi’s illness. Describing her death as a huge shock, she expressed that Nkechi was one of the kindest individuals she had met in the Nollywood industry.

Ngozi wrote, “It is so hard to believe you are gone, ezigbo nwanyi onicha. I didn’t know you were sick, and now I will never see your always-smiling face again. Nkechi, you were one of the sweetest souls I met in Nollywood. This is truly a big blow. GO WELL, MY BEAUTIFUL SISTER.”

In related news, veteran Nollywood actor, Jide Kosoko, has expressed regret over not achieving the level of wealth he had hoped for, despite being in the industry for over 60 years.

During an appearance on The Honest Bunch podcast, the 71-year-old star revealed that while he is comfortable, he cannot be considered rich by Nigerian standards. He also spoke about the negative impact of piracy on the Nigerian film industry and called for stricter penalties for those involved in pirating films.

Kosoko, who began his career as a child actor in 1964 with the TV production Makanjuola, has appeared in hundreds of Nollywood films in both English and Yoruba.
