House Of Reps Reacts: Binance Bribery Scandal Now A Government-To-Government Matter

The House of Representatives has clarified that the bribery allegation made by Binance executive, Tigran Gambaryan, against certain federal lawmakers is directed at individual members rather than the institution itself.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
In a statement released on Saturday, House spokesman Akin Rotimi (Jr) emphasized that the three lawmakers implicated in the $150 million bribery claim have maintained their innocence and have been advised to pursue legal action to defend their reputations.
Rotimi further noted that the issue has escalated into a diplomatic matter between Nigeria and the United States, which is being handled by the appropriate authorities. He cautioned the public against being swayed by narratives aimed at discrediting Nigerian institutions and officials.
Due to the sensitivity of the matter, he stated that the House would refrain from making further public comments.
“These allegations, which were initially circulated last year, are against individual lawmakers, not the House as an institution. We urge the public to rely on verified facts rather than recycled claims intended to tarnish Nigerian institutions and officials,” Rotimi said.
Gambaryan, Binance’s Head of Financial Crime Compliance, reiterated his claim that three Nigerian lawmakers demanded a $150 million bribe to secure his release from detention. He made this assertion via his account on Saturday.
He had previously alleged that, in collaboration with the Department of State Services (DSS), lawmakers Peter Akpanke, Philip Agbese, and Ginger Obinna Onwusibe demanded the bribe in cryptocurrency.
Despite denials from Agbese and the federal government through the Minister of Information, Mohammed Idris, Gambaryan doubled down on his claim, insisting it was the truth.
In response, Rotimi described the allegations as serious and emphasized the importance of the accused lawmakers clearing their names.
