This activity was done in preparation for a proposed project in the area, all without obtaining input from the community.

Carrying placards with messages such as ‘Lagbaja, Don’t Create Conflict in Orolu/Irepodun Community,’ ‘Nigerian Army Serves the Entire Nation, Not Just One Community,’ ‘Federal Government, Please Restrain Lagbaja,’ ‘Tinubu, Urge Lagbaja to Act Responsibly,’ and others, the protesters clarified that their objection wasn’t against the establishment of developmental ventures within their vicinity.

However, they insisted that prior approval from the community was necessary, and they requested that the project be associated with Ifon since it would be situated on their land.

Speaking on behalf of the demonstrators, Chief Oyetunji, the Regent, urged Major General Taoreed Lagbaja, the Chief of Army Staff who originates from Ilobu, to ensure that the implementation of the project wouldn’t result in conflicts within the region.
