IGP Egbetokun Shakes Up Police Force, Appoints Emefile As New Director Of Sports

Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kayode Egbetokun has appointed Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Osifo Tony Emefile as the new Director of Sports for the Nigeria Police Force (NPF).....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The announcement was made in a statement released on Friday night by the Force Public Relations Officer, Muyiwa Adejobi.
DCP Emefile takes over from Commissioner of Police (CP) Patrick A. Atayero, who was appointed as Force Director of Sports on March 26, 2020, shortly after the successful conclusion of the 12th Biennial Police Games (BIPOGA), tagged Anambra 2020.
According to the statement, “With unwavering support from the IGP and the Force Management, CP Atayero has significantly strengthened the foundation of the NPF as a pillar of Nigerian sports, as evidenced by numerous achievements since 2020.”
The statement further highlighted that the newly appointed Director brings a wealth of experience to the role and is well-equipped to elevate police sports to greater heights. DCP Emefile has an extensive background in sports, having been a former ace striker for the Police Machine Football Club, a 1993/1994 Bournvita Award winner for highest goal scorer, a former Board Member of the Nigeria Scrabble Federation (2013-2017), and the pioneer Chairperson of the Police Scrabble Association. He also currently serves as the Chairman of the Police Athletics Association and the Technical Sub-Committee for the 13th and 14th BIPOGA Games. Additionally, he represents the NPF as a Security Consultant on the League Management Committee for the Nigeria Professional Football League.
IGP Egbetokun congratulated the new Director of Sports and urged him to build on the successes of his predecessor, further advancing sports development within the Nigeria Police Force.
