Olumekun emphasized that as part of INEC’s ongoing efforts to enhance the use of technology for voter accreditation and result management, the commission plans to conduct a mock voter accreditation exercise in the three states.
According to the statement, all political parties that have nominated candidates will receive digital copies of the complete voter register for Imo, Kogi, and Bayelsa, where the governorship election is set to occur.
The mock accreditation is intended to assess the effectiveness of the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System (BVAS) and the uploading of polling unit results to the INEC Result Viewing Portal (iREV).
The national commissioner stated that this exercise will take place concurrently in the three states on a specified Saturday, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Additionally, the list of designated polling units for each state has been published on INEC’s website and social media platforms.
