Jigawa State Government Explains Reasons Behind Delay In Ramadan Feeding Initiative....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
The Jigawa State Government has clarified the reasons behind the delay in launching its Ramadan feeding program. Commissioner of Special Duties, Auwal D. Sankara, attributed the delay to necessary procurement procedures and ensuring strict adherence to due processes.
In a statement issued to DAILY POST, Sankara revealed that the Jigawa State Executive Council had sanctioned over N1 billion for the initiative. This funding aims to support the feeding of at least 300 individuals in each of the 609 Iftar feeding centers across the state, along with 10 tertiary education institutions, throughout the Ramadan period.
Apologizing for the delay, Sankara assured the public that all necessary arrangements had been finalized for the program’s commencement on the 12th day of Ramadan, equivalent to March 22, 2024. He outlined the implementation strategy, which includes the appointment of primary vendors or contractors for each of the state’s 27 local government areas (LGAs), as well as sub-vendors for the designated Iftar centers.
