In a statement issued on Friday morning, the Minister’s Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Alao Babatunde, clarified that while preliminary investigations suggest the officer may have been struck by a stray bullet, the Minister’s remarks were aimed at expressing serious concern over the allegations brought to his attention.

He asserted that the government would address the matter with the Chinese Embassy, emphasizing that such conduct would not be tolerated in any sovereign nation.

The Minister further noted that the federal government is advancing immigration reforms, including automating the White, Grey, and Blacklists to efficiently monitor and promptly blacklist foreign nationals posing security threats.
