Kogi Auto Accident Leaves 19 Dead In Heartbreaking Tragedy
The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) reported a tragic auto accident in Kogi State’s Okene area resulting in the loss of nineteen lives. Jonas Agwu, the FRSC’s Corps Education Officer, conveyed this sad news in a statement issued on Sunday from Abuja.
According to Agwu, the accident involved a truck and a Toyota Hiace bus traveling from Kano State, colliding on the road. Among the twenty-two individuals involved, all males, nineteen lost their lives, while one sustained injuries.
Despite the grim situation, two individuals were safely rescued by FRSC personnel. The deceased victims were transferred to Okene General Hospital.
The FRSC’s statement highlighted the strenuous efforts of emergency rescue teams enduring over three hours of inferno to save lives at the scene of the crash. The collision sparked a fire inferno, resulting in the tragic loss of nineteen lives on Sunday, April 28, 2024, along the Okene-Lokoja highway in Kogi State.
