It was reported that on Monday, Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo imposed a ban on public gatherings, citing intelligence that suggested plans to incite violence. However, Natasha defied the Governor’s directive, insisting on returning to the State to celebrate Eid Fitr with her constituents.
The police issued a warning to her, urging the cancellation of the planned gathering and threatening to enforce the full force of the law against anyone disturbing public peace.
The police statement read, “In light of the security threat regarding the planned rally, the Kogi State Police Command advises the organisers to cancel the event to prevent any breakdown of law and order in the state. The Command will not hesitate to apply the full wrath of the law on anyone who causes disturbances.”
Despite the warning, Natasha went ahead with the rally, drawing a crowd of supporters.
In an interview on Channels Television’s Politics Today program on Tuesday night, Fanwo stated that security agencies would determine whether Natasha should face arrest due to her actions.
He explained, “There was a directive from the state governor, and the security agencies were instructed to enforce it. If someone violates it, the security agencies don’t need further instructions from the governor; they know how to proceed. Only the security agencies can answer whether or not to arrest her; they know their operations, but I am certain she will be questioned about her incitements.”
