The Police Public Relations Officer for the state, Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed the receipt of the petition during an inquiry by BUSHRADIOGIST on Tuesday, assuring that an investigation has been initiated into the allegations. He stated, “I can confirm to you that we have received the petition, and investigation has commenced.”

In the circulated petition, Savage accused Davido of using disrespectful language in response to a post that featured herself and the singer’s baby mama, Sophia Momodu, on Instagram. She expressed disappointment at Davido’s threats and reminded him of her support during difficult times, particularly when he lost his son, Ifeanyi.

Savage claimed to have subsequently received calls from mutual connections inquiring about the issue and questioning her relationship with Sophia. The petition quoted her saying, “The events of that day have also led to a barrage of calls and messages from our mutual connections, asking me what I did to MR. DAVID ADELEKE that he’s upset that I chose to maintain a relationship with Imade’s mother, Sophia Momodu.”

Furthermore, the singer alleged that Davido warned their mutual connections to caution her about being careful in Lagos, suggesting that she would face consequences. Savage characterized these actions as a form of online and offline harassment, emphasizing that Davido’s conduct could be perceived as a direct threat to her rights to life, privacy, and personal dignity.

The controversy between the two artists gained public attention on January 6, 2024, when they unfollowed each other on Instagram. Previously having a cordial relationship, speculations have arisen regarding the cause of their fallout, with some suggesting it could be related to Savage’s friendship with Sophia.

Prior to the petition, music executive Tee Billz had criticized Davido on social media for allegedly disrespecting his family and threatened to teach him a lesson. Despite attempts to reach Davido’s manager, Asa Asika, no response has been received at the time of filing this report.
