Former Minister of Police Affairs, Jelili Adesiyan, popularly known as Jalo, has denied any involvement in the assassination of former Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Bola Ige.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Adesiyan made the denial during an appearance on Edmund Obilo’s podcast, State Affairs, where he recounted his ordeal following Ige’s killing. He revealed that he was arrested after the assassination and detained in a dungeon-like cell, an experience he described as deeply traumatic.

According to him, his innocence was eventually established, leading to his discharge and acquittal by the courts after enduring severe hardship in detention.

The former minister, who served under the administration of ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, invoked a curse on himself and his family, insisting that he had no hand in Bola Ige’s murder, which occurred on December 23, 2001, in Ibadan, Oyo State.

“I fear nobody,” Adesiyan said. “Whenever I pray, I ask God that if I ever knew anything about the death of Uncle Bola—or anyone else—I should not come out of it alive.”

He dismissed claims that Ige was spiritually attacked before being physically killed, describing such narratives as baseless. Adesiyan added that anyone truly responsible for Bola Ige’s death would ultimately face consequences.

Recalling his arrest, he said he and others were taken to Alagbon, where they were locked in a dark dungeon without light. He claimed the experience affected his eyesight and left lasting trauma.

“If I had any knowledge, plan, or even heard whispers about Uncle Bola’s death,” he added, “I pray that God should strike me, destroy my family, and everything I stand for.”
