The Department of State Services (DSS) has arraigned Innocent Chukwuemeka Onukwume on a six-count charge accusing him of calling for a military coup. The charge was filed at the Federal High Court in Abuja under reference FHC/ABJ/CR/610/2025.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

According to the charge, Onukwume, a 27‑year‑old resident of Umusayo Layout, Oyigbo Local Government Area of Rivers State, allegedly committed the offences in October 2025. The DSS says his conduct breached Sections 46A(1) and 59(1) of the Criminal Code Act and provisions of the Cybercrimes (Prohibition, Prevention, etc.) Act, 2024 (as amended).

The agency accuses Onukwume of using his verified X account (@theagroman) to publish messages that, the prosecution alleges, called for the suspension of the government and urged military intervention. One of the counts cites an alleged post that read in part: “A coup in Nigeria is needed. Dispose of APC, suspend the Nigeria government and join the AES.”

Other counts quoted in the charge allege that Onukwume posted messages urging Nigerians to support the military and denouncing President Tinubu and the APC, language the DSS says was intended to cause public alarm, hatred, or needless anxiety and to undermine the government.
