In a viral video, the Minister is seen arriving at the event venue and abruptly halting proceedings, accusing the organizers of impersonation. She asserted that the event, titled “Unveiling the Power of Women and Food Security,” was being held in the Ministry’s name without authorization.

Addressing attendees, Kennedy-Ohanenye stated, “There is an impersonation issue here. The Federal Ministry of Women Affairs did not plan this event. The organizer has been arrested and is currently with the Department of State Services (DSS).”

She explained that despite a cancellation notice approved by the President, the organizer proceeded with the event and printed materials, which she deemed fraudulent. “This is impersonation. It is a fraud to present it as an official Ministry event,” she said.

The Minister expressed her displeasure, stating, “I cannot allow this program to continue. This is pure impersonation, and the President is not pleased.”

Earlier in the day, Kennedy-Ohanenye had announced the event’s postponement on her X handle, citing ongoing nationwide protests as the reason.
