The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has reported the arrest of a 75-year-old man, Jibril Audu, in possession of 7.5 kilograms of cannabis in Oke-asa village, Ijero-Ekiti, Ekiti State. Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA’s Director of Media and Advocacy, made this disclosure in a statement released on Sunday.
Additionally, Babafemi revealed that a 70-year-old woman, Tikwase Nytor, was apprehended with 15.6kg of the same substance in Makurdi, Benue State.
He stated, “Jibril Audu, aged 75, was apprehended on Friday, May 10, with 7.5 kilograms of cannabis during a raid operation in Oke-asa village, Ijero-Ekiti, Ekiti State. Meanwhile, Tikwase Nytor, aged 70, was captured with 15.6kg of the same substance on Thursday, May 9, during a raid operation at Achusa and International Market road, Makurdi, Benue State.”
These incidents highlight the ongoing efforts of the NDLEA in combating drug-related activities across the country.
