In a recent airstrike by the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) in Katsina State, not less than twenty-two loyalists of the late bandit kingpin, Kareem Boss, were reported to have been killed.
NAF fighter jets targeted the bandits in Batsari and Jibia local government areas.

According to sources involved in planning the NAF mission, the terrorists were found to be hiding in large numbers at SOLA POI II, with intentions to kidnap and attack commuters along Jibia-Katsina road.
In response, waves of air interdiction missions were conducted, resulting in the neutralization of several terrorists and the destruction of their structures and hideouts.
NAF spokesperson, Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet, confirmed the airstrikes on Monday but did not provide further specifics on the operation.
However, he emphasized that the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Vice Marshal Hassan Abubakar, has directed all air component commanders to collaborate with other security agencies to maximize the impact of NAF’s firepower against terrorist targets and their enclaves.
Kareem Boss himself was killed alongside some of his fighters by a NAF fighter jet in August 2022 in Ruga Forest, Katsina.
The late bandit kingpin was allegedly responsible for various atrocities, including the masterminding of the killing of a Nigerian Police Area Commander in Dutsinma on July 5, 2022.
