A Nigerian doctor, Uzochukwu Davis Igboanugo, aged 32, tragically lost his life in the United States of America due to a drunk driving incident, as reported by Naija News. His father, I.K.B. Igboanugo, a respected Igbo businessman and founder of I.K.B Industries Limited, shared the heartbreaking news on his Facebook page on Monday, May 13, 2024.

Uzochukwu’s untimely demise occurred three weeks prior, while he was driving home from work. According to his father, a drunk driver, who had dozed off behind the wheel while speeding on the highway, collided with Uzochukwu’s vehicle. The impact was fatal, striking the driver’s side door where Uzochukwu was seated.

In his poignant post, the grieving father described his son as a vibrant individual—happy, intelligent, friendly, caring, and loving. Despite being just 32 years old and unmarried, Uzochukwu had dedicated himself to his profession as an ophthalmologist in America, a testament to his diligence and sacrifice.

Expressing the profound anguish of losing his son, the father emphasized the overwhelming emotional toll the tragedy had taken on him and his wife. He urged parents to cherish every moment with their children, regardless of any shortcomings, as the loss of a child is an unbearable pain.
