He revealed that the Federal Government had formally requested the organized labor to provide names for the new minimum wage committee. Ajaero explained that the list had been submitted to the government last year, and the negotiation process would commence once the committee was constituted.

Highlighting the urgency of the matter, Ajaero pointed out that the current minimum wage would expire by March this year. He expressed hope that the negotiations would be successfully concluded before that deadline.

Addressing concerns about the wage award issued by the Federal Government to the Nigerian workforce, Ajaero noted that only one month’s payment had been made. He asserted that the remaining payments should be disbursed to workers by the end of January this year.
