In a move that has endeared him to many, Hon. Ahmed Satomi, a House of Representatives member representing the Jere constituency of Borno State, has taken a commendable step to alleviate the burden of high fuel prices on his constituents. Ahmed has contracted 15 filling stations within his jurisdiction to sell fuel at a subsidized rate of N430 per litre. This initiative is targeted at commercial tricyclists and motorists who have been hit hard by the rising costs of petroleum products in recent times.

Given the current economic challenges and the upward trajectory of fuel prices nationwide, such a gesture by a federal lawmaker is both timely and praiseworthy. The subsidy means that the 15 selected filling stations will distribute a whopping 37,500 liters of petrol at this reduced rate, a move that promises significant relief to many who rely on petrol for their daily business and transportation needs.

As expected, Nigerians, especially those within Borno State, have taken to various platforms to express their gratitude and admiration for Hon. Ahmed’s proactive and benevolent move.
