Deputy Spokesperson Philip Agbese made this statement to journalists in Abuja on Saturday, as reported by Naija News.
Agbese revealed that the House has already called for the removal of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA) leadership, citing concerns that both the NNPCL and NMDPRA are working to sabotage the Dangote Refinery.
Despite many Nigerians canceling planned protests due to hardships, Agbese noted that there is still strong demand for Kyari’s dismissal to ensure the refinery’s smooth operation and its contribution to the national economy.
He stressed that the House plans to investigate the ongoing conflict between the Dangote Refinery and the NMDPRA.
Agbese said, “We have observed numerous efforts to discredit the Dangote Petroleum Refinery, which has led to widespread panic in the country. The House has already directed the President to remove NMDPRA’s CEO, and if the sabotage of this crucial national asset does not cease, we will not hesitate to call for Mele Kyari’s dismissal.”
Earlier, Speaker Tajudeen Abbas led a delegation to the Dangote Refinery and Petrochemicals Company in Lagos, stating that the visit would guide the House’s legislative actions and strategies.
