Kaduna State Governor Uba Sani on Tuesday expressed confidence that no Nigerian governor is likely to oppose President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s bid for re-election in 2027.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
He made this known at the opening of a two-day interactive session on government-citizen engagement, organized by the Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Foundation at Arewa House, Kaduna.
The session, themed “Assessing Electoral Promises: Fostering Government-Citizens Engagement for National Unity,” drew stakeholders from the 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory, including former governors, ex-ministers, traditional leaders, technocrats, civil society representatives, and religious figures.
According to Governor Sani, “No president in Nigeria’s history has provided as much support to governors and sub-national governments as President Tinubu. Because of this, it’s highly unlikely that any sitting governor would oppose him.”
He further revealed that the federal government is now engaging with non-state actors in the North in a way never seen before.
“This is the first time the Nigerian government is formally interacting with non-state actors to evaluate progress and address challenges in Northern Nigeria,” he noted.
“It signifies a new, proactive approach to solving the country’s pressing issues.”
