The situation sparked a flurry of reactions online, with some netizens accusing Sophia of blocking Imade from interacting with her father’s relatives.

Responding via Instagram on Wednesday, Sophia said she woke up to see the backlash directed at her and her daughter following the wedding. She emphasized that Imade is a healthy, happy child, and anyone who has met her can attest to that.

Sophia explained that she has been Imade’s primary caregiver for the past five years, covering all her expenses except school fees, which have been graciously paid by her paternal grandparents for the last three years. She also noted that Davido has not provided child support, but assured that their daughter lacks nothing.

She further clarified that she has consistently fostered a good relationship between Imade and her father, and has never denied him access. Sophia added that she carefully manages her daughter’s safety and maintains structured schedules for any meetings with Davido.
