The incident surfaced after a disturbing video, less than two minutes long, went viral on social media. The footage, obtained by Naija News, showed several children—many of them unclothed—kneeling on the floor and holding palm leaves while a man flogged them repeatedly with palm fronds.

A voice in the background alleged the children had endured days of severe beatings and mistreatment, adding:

“Only God knows if they kidnapped these children. There is blood in that basin. They flog them, strip them naked—both boys and girls—and this is Day 3. The other day, we couldn’t sleep at night.”

The narrator continued, “The children are crying. They’ve been beaten for days. You can see the marks all over their bodies.”
