The committee, comprising senior party leaders and respected stakeholders, has been tasked with engaging aggrieved members and resolving disputes following the emergence of the party’s candidates for next year’s polls.
The development was announced in a statement issued on Sunday by the Oyo APC Publicity Secretary, Olawale Sadare, who said the initiative is aimed at strengthening party unity and promoting reconciliation after the completion of the primary election process.
According to the statement, members of the committee include Senators Olufemi Lanlehin, Brimo Yusuf, Hosea Agboola and Akin Oke; former Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Prof. Afolabi Oladapo; Idris Adeoye; Pa Timothy Jolaoso; Olukemi Alao-Akala; Adebayo Adewusi; Gunju Ojo; and Adekemi Opatunde.
Other members are Abisoye Fagade, Kamorudeen Ajisafe, Abu Gbadamosi, Isiaka Alimi, Niran Adeyoju, Yinka Folarin, Emmanuel Olaoye, Mufutau Adisa, Sule Ajibade, Prof. Abideen Olaiya, Dayo Lawal, Ibrahim Bolomope, Mabel Williams, Jelili Agboola, Kehinde Oloya, Goke Oyetunji, Ramota Okemakinde, Raji Rasaki, Segun Ajanaku, Shakiru Fagunwa, Abduwaheed Lawal, Esther Adedokun and Obatunde Oladapo.
The committee is expected to be formally inaugurated later this week by the state APC Chairman and former Deputy Governor, Moses Adeyemo.
Following its inauguration, the panel will engage all aspirants who purchased the party’s Expression of Interest and Nomination forms but did not secure the APC ticket for various elective offices.
The move comes days after the APC unveiled Senator Sharafadeen Alli and Adesoji Adedeji as its governorship and deputy governorship candidates for the 2027 election in Oyo State.
Their nomination followed the submission of their names to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) by the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.
However, the outcome of the primary has been rejected by supporters of former Minister of Power and governorship aspirant, Adebayo Adelabu.
Explaining the committee’s mandate, Sadare said it would meet with all relevant stakeholders, particularly aspirants dissatisfied with the outcome of the primaries, with the goal of restoring unity within the party ahead of the 2027 elections.
He expressed confidence that the reconciliation effort would strengthen the APC and position it for victory at the polls next year.
