Rear Admiral Azeez Bello Afolayan (rtd), the Managing Director of Military Health Management Limited (DHML), disclosed this information during an interactive meeting held at DHML’s headquarters in Abuja with several military veteran groups.

Among the veteran groups present at the meeting were the Nigerian Legion, Retired Members of the Nigerian Armed Forces, Association for Ex-Service Pension, Ex-Servicemen Association, Ex-Servicemen and Welfare Association Masaka, Foundation for Retired Military Personnel, Foundation for Care and Support Veterans, Coalition of Concern Veterans, Retired Navy and Air Force Keffi, Nasarawa State, and others.

Rear Admiral Afolayan outlined the primary objective of the meeting as enlightening veteran groups about the significant healthcare benefits they could access by registering with DHML. He stressed that DHML was dedicated to ensuring that veterans received top-quality healthcare services.

He elaborated, “We are achieving this through our state offices, which are strategically located across the country. Our staff in these offices go into the remotest villages to identify veterans and educate them on the advantages of registering with DHML. We strive not to turn any veteran away, even if their ailment is not covered by health insurance, as per NHIS guidelines.”
