Ulasi made the remark on Thursday during an appearance on Arise Television’s Morning Show, where he spoke on the growing political alignment between Obi and former presidential candidate Rabiu Kwankwaso. He described the development as part of broader efforts to build national consensus ahead of future elections.
According to him, both Obi and Kwankwaso command strong influence in their respective regions, and a collaboration between them could reshape the country’s political landscape and drive national development.
Ulasi also referenced the belief in power rotation, arguing that the South should complete what he described as its remaining tenure following the North’s eight years under former President Muhammadu Buhari. He said a successful Obi-Kwankwaso alliance could become a formidable political force.
Expressing confidence in Obi’s prospects, Ulasi maintained that based on current political developments, the former Labour Party presidential candidate stands a strong chance—more than 60 per cent—of emerging president.
