Peter Obi: I Have No Intention Of Being Anyone’s Running Mate....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate from the 2023 general election, has clarified that he never indicated any intention to accept a vice presidential role in the 2027 elections.

In a statement posted on his official X handle, Obi addressed recent misinterpretations of his recent interview. He criticized certain individuals he described as “fifth columnists” for distorting his words through propaganda.

Obi, a former Governor of Anambra State, expressed his disapproval of focusing on the 2027 elections while Nigerians face ongoing issues like hunger, poverty, and insecurity. He reaffirmed his dedication to working with like-minded individuals who are committed to Nigeria’s advancement, emphasizing that he is not desperate for any political position.

“I refuse to be among those fixated on 2027 while our country grapples with severe challenges,” Obi said. “I have always been open to collaborating with others, as long as their intentions are not about capturing state power. My focus is on advancing Nigeria’s progress.”

He also reiterated his loyalty to the Labour Party and mentioned that any future political discussions should be transparent regarding the participants’ true motives.

“Should I choose to run for any office in 2027, it will not be in alliance with those aiming solely for state capture or victory for its own sake,” he added. “My priority will be addressing critical issues such as ensuring that no child is left behind, bringing millions of out-of-school children back into classrooms, and improving living conditions to combat poverty.”
