This signal became evident when officials from the Development Control Department of the FCTA, led by Director Muktar Galadima, thwarted an attempt by the owners of the revoked land in Maitama District to proceed with development on the sites, despite the existing revocation order.

Accompanied by security personnel, the team confiscated construction equipment discovered on the sites and dispersed some workers, with others primarily detained for further assessment.

It’s worth noting that FCT Minister Nyesom Wike had revoked more than 165 plots of land in the service districts of the Federal Capital City due to a lack of development.

According to the minister, the revocation order was issued because the affected plots continuously violated the terms of agreements outlined in section 28(5) (a) & (b) of the Land Use Act.

In response to questions from reporters during the operation, Muktar Galadima, the Director of the Development Control Department, revealed that his office had received information that some owners of previously revoked land were returning to the sites, which, according to him, violated the revocation order.
