Addressing the audience at the ceremony held at the Lagos House in Ikeja, Governor Sanwo-Olu explained that the appointment of the new Executive Council member was aimed at expanding the state’s healthcare system.

Mrs. Oluwakemi Ogunyemi, a seasoned nurse and a two-term member of the Lagos State Health Service Commission, took the oath of office as the Special Adviser to the Governor on Health.

Additionally, the governor promoted two directors in the state civil service to the position of Permanent Secretaries.

Mr. Adewunmi Ogunsanya, who served as the Director of Administration and Human Resources at the Ministry of Youth and Social Development, was appointed Permanent Secretary for the Cabinet Office.

Mrs. Iyabo Seriki-Bello, formerly the Director of Administration and Human Resources at Education District IV, now serves as the Permanent Secretary of the Lagos State Teaching Service Commission (TESCOM).

Governor Sanwo-Olu congratulated the appointees on their selection and urged them to remain focused, emphasizing that expectations are high for them to justify their appointments.

He expressed his confidence in the new appointees, given their extensive experience and governance expertise, and stressed the importance of quickly acclimating to their roles and fulfilling their responsibilities.

Governor Sanwo-Olu also emphasized the significance of understanding the state’s development agenda, known as THEMES Plus, and assured that its implementation was on track.

He noted that gender equality and youth inclusion were central to his administration’s focus, exemplified by the appointment of women and young people to key positions, showcasing his commitment to inclusive governance.
