Seun Kuti: Rich Partners Less Susceptible To DNA Test Requests....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶
Renowned Afrobeat sensation, Seun Kuti, recently weighed in on the ongoing debate surrounding DNA testing, suggesting that many men would refrain from requesting such tests if their partners held greater financial stability. This commentary from Kuti adds to the extensive discourse on DNA testing currently circulating across Nigeria’s social media platforms, as reported by Naija News.
Nigerians are deeply divided on the significance of DNA testing, particularly in light of the increasing number of cases involving paternity fraud. Kuti, in a video message, underscored that the motivation behind DNA testing extends beyond mere paternity confirmation, delving into intricate issues of trust and power dynamics within relationships.
According to Kuti, the decision to undergo DNA testing reflects not only trust but also a nuanced power dynamic. He stated, “There is no way that doing DNA test is not about trust. Doing DNA test is a trust issue 100 per cent! It’s not only a trust issue, it’s also a power issue. No man would request for a DNA test if their partners are richer than them.”
Meanwhile, amidst this ongoing debate, Abosede, the mother of the late singer Ilerioluwa Oladimeji Aloba, popularly known as Mohbad, has reiterated her determination to proceed with a DNA test for her grandson, Liam, despite facing resistance from her daughter-in-law, Wunmi.
The controversy surrounding Liam’s paternity intensified when Wunmi, Mohbad’s widow, reversed her previous agreement to undergo a DNA test for her son. She argued that Mohbad held the exclusive right to request such a test and maintained that he was the only man she had been involved with.
However, a circulating video on social media features Mohbad’s mother, Abosede, appealing to Wunmi to cooperate with the DNA testing process.
While acknowledging that the matter should ideally be resolved privately within the family, Abosede expressed disappointment with how it had been publicly discussed by Mohbad’s father.
Amidst this complex narrative, the conversation surrounding DNA testing in Nigeria continues to evolve, raising pertinent questions about trust, power dynamics, and the intricacies of familial relationships.
