He stated, “To effectively combat corruption in the Judiciary, we must address the remuneration review comprehensively, assessing both the costs and consequences.” This statement was in response to a request presented by the NBA president.

President Tinubu also acknowledged the significance of rectifying current vacancies within the Supreme Court, reaffirming that these vacancies constitute obligatory responsibilities dictated by recommendations of the National Judicial Council (NJC).

“Most of them are currently on leave, and upon their return, we will closely evaluate the situation and proceed to fill the vacant positions. It is a commitment to fulfill a duty,” he confirmed.

Expressing his gratitude, the President extended his appreciation to the NBA for inviting him to inaugurate the association’s 63rd Annual General Conference scheduled for the weekend in Abuja.

He acknowledged his privilege of having several lawyers serving as key aides, including Chief of Staff Rt. Hon Femi Gbajabiamila, State Chief of Protocol Amb. Victor Adeleke, and Principal Private Secretary Prince Damilotun Aderemi.

The NBA President, in response, lauded President Tinubu for appointing distinguished members of the legal profession into his cabinet, notably Lateef Fagbemi, the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice.
