The Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives, Benjamin Kalu, has emphasized that President Bola Tinubu is laying a strong foundation for the nation’s economy. Kalu made this statement in his Independence Day message on Tuesday.

He acknowledged the difficult times the country has faced but urged Nigerians to recognize the progress achieved. “Today, I extend my congratulations to all Nigerians as we commemorate 64 years of independence as a sovereign nation. Despite the trials and triumphs, we have continued to build this great country, embracing our unique identity, resilience, and strength.

“Our journey toward nationhood has been fraught with challenges, but as we reflect on Nigeria today, we must appreciate the strides we have made, even as we tackle the ongoing difficulties of nation-building. Our diversity is our strength, and despite the obstacles, we remain determined to move forward.

“Under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s leadership, the APC government is committed to establishing a solid foundation for an inclusive economy, fortifying our democratic institutions, tackling insecurity, and positioning Nigeria as a beacon of hope and progress,” Kalu stated.

The Deputy Speaker reaffirmed the House of Representatives’ commitment to addressing the nation’s challenges through effective legislation. He encouraged the youth to keep faith in the country, expressing that the future holds greater victories than the struggles currently faced.

Kalu added, “The 10th House of Representatives is steadfast in our commitment to advancing legislation that prioritizes the welfare and well-being of every Nigerian. As we strive for a brighter future, I urge our youth and all citizens to believe in our collective destiny. Let not the whispers of doubt extinguish the flame of our national spirit.
