Uzodimma asserted that these influential groups, described as cabals and deities, played a significant role in dictating economic activities, requiring worship before certain transactions, especially involving the dollar, could take place. He blamed them for the country’s socioeconomic challenges and claimed that Tinubu’s decisive actions, such as removing the gas subsidy and streamlining foreign currency windows, were instrumental in unlocking the pathway to prosperity.
In his findings, Uzodimma highlighted the existence of these cabals and decried their influence on media narratives and opposition movements that aimed to undermine a well-intentioned president. He specifically addressed the removal of fuel subsidy, stating that it had primarily benefited a select group of cabals who amassed sudden wealth at the expense of ordinary Nigerians.
According to the governor, the departure of certain companies from Nigeria was not a loss of investors but rather entities profiting from the existing cabal system. He emphasized that their exit could pave the way for indigenous companies to thrive, seeing it as an opportunity for local businesses.
Uzodimma rejected claims that Tinubu’s economic strategies were ineffective, asserting that the president was actively working to strengthen the economy and the Naira. While acknowledging the challenges during the initial phases of economic recovery, he expressed confidence that the implemented policies would ultimately lead to a more robust Nigerian economy.
