He highlighted that the PEPC justices meticulously examined each aspect of the case, including preliminary objections, motions, objections on documents and exhibits, and substantive issues.
Wike also shared his insights on the recent presidential election and the candidacy of Peter Obi from the Labour Party (LP). While acknowledging the tough nature of the election, he expressed his belief that Obi would not win and attributed this outcome to various factors, including ethnic and religious considerations.
He mentioned that the younger generation of voters may have supported Obi due to his age, but they may not have fully considered the complex realities of Nigerian politics, such as the influence of ethnicity and religion.
Wike also compared the judiciary’s decisions regarding Peter Obi’s past gubernatorial mandate recovery and the recent PEPC verdict, emphasizing the importance of accepting judicial decisions regardless of personal preferences.
He questioned whether Obi paid bribes when he regained his governorship through a Supreme Court ruling and urged transparency in discussing legal outcomes.
