Abubakar Yusuf Dingyadi, former media aide to the Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Iliya Damagum, has asserted that the African Democratic Congress (ADC) poses no threat to President Bola Tinubu in the 2027 presidential race.....KINDLY READ THE FULL STORY HERE▶

He stressed that neither ex-presidential candidate Peter Obi nor former president Goodluck Jonathan has any realistic chance of defeating Tinubu.

Speaking to journalists, Abubakar noted that certain politicians have risked their lives for Tinubu and will continue to stand by him, describing the president as the most formidable contender ahead of 2027.

“Those defecting to other parties now are the same people who never stayed to fight for or build their former political platforms,” he said. “If they think they can unite against Tinubu, they are only deceiving themselves.”

On opposition figures, Abubakar stated: “Whether it’s Jonathan, Obi, or anyone else, none of them can come to the North and convince us they will defeat Tinubu simply by promising security. Where were they in 2023? They were divided then, and they remain divided now.”

He accused some opposition politicians—especially within the ADC—of chasing personal ambitions instead of strengthening their parties, revealing that many members are ready to defect if they fail to clinch the party’s ticket.

“These politicians travel across the country, host press conferences, and grant media interviews—often uninvited—just to criticise Tinubu. Yet, when they had the chance to lead, they achieved nothing substantial for the people,” he said.

Abubakar further argued that those claiming to speak for the North are acting out of self-interest.

“No one can claim to love the North more than we do,” he declared. “This is not about ethnicity—those days are gone. If you want to lead Nigeria, show us what you have done for the North and what you plan to do to ensure its progress.”
